Type locality: U.S.A. (holotype from Tanbark Flat, Los Angeles Co., California; paratypes 34 ♂ and 99 ♀ from Arizona, California and Idaho).
Paratype, 1♀: Tanbark Flat LA Co., Cal. VI.19.1956 // R.C. Bechtel Collector // Paratype Argochrysis ♀ litura R.M. Bohart <red label>.
Remarks. The holotype is housed in BME. Bohart in 1980s identified about 350 specimens and kindly donated a paratype of A. litura Bohart to ZMMU.
