Taxonomy: Gibbs (2010; 2011); Gibbs et al. (2013); Knerer & Atwood (1964b); McGinley (McGinley 1986, 2003); Mitchell (1960).

Biology. Lasioglossum is extremely behaviorally diverse including solitary, communal, eusocial nesting in underground burrows or rotten logs, a range of floral host preferences, and multiple origins of cleptoparasitism ( Danforth et al. 2003; Gibbs et al. 2012 a, 2013; Michener 1974; Sakagami & Michener 1962; Yanega 1997).
