Ybytyramoan diasi Silveira and Mermudes sp. nov.

Etymology. The name is in honor to the biologist, teacher and dear friend Guilherme Dias, who helped the first author to collect fireflies, including some specimens of this new species, in his fieldwork. Singular genitive, masculine.

Diagnosis. Body-shape enlarging posteriad ( Fig. 26 ). Antennal alveolus with antennifer process conspicuous. Labrum strongly indented medially. Abdominal sterna VI and VII with lanterns as long as 3/4 sterna length, as wide as 1/3 sterna width ( Fig. 29 ).

Description of the male. Body-shape enlarging posteriad. Antennal alveolus with antennifer process conspicuous. Antennae with antennomeres from III slightly decreasing in length toward apex, apical antennomere as long as subapical. Labrum strongly indented medially. Pronotum slightly projected anteriad, lateral margins slightly rounded. Elytra almost 5x longer than wide, enlarging toward apex. Abdominal tergum IX and pygidium covered by elytra. Abdominal sterna VI and VII with lanterns as long as 3/4 sterna length, as wide as 1/3 sterna width. Pygidium with posterior margin somewhat straight. Phallum constricted at basal 2/4, sclerotized portion slightly shorter than paramere, with paired subapical, laterally-oriented teeth, and anterior margin straight in dorsal view.

Colour. Body overall dark-brown, except by abdominal sterna VI and VII, which are mostly dark-brown, except by light-yellow areas around lanterns; and a central light-brown dot at metasternum. Pronotum yellowishbrown. Elytra dark-brown, outer margins and contour of inner margins light-yellow.

Immature stages and female unknown.

Biology. Fireflies active and flashing from twilight through the first hours of the night.

Remarks. Resembles Ybytyramoan monteirorum , but can be distinguished by labrum strongly indented medially and abdominal sterna VI and VII with lanterns as long as 3/4 sterna length. Despite the lack of a phylogenetic analysis, it seems possible that Y. diasi and Y. monteirorum are closer sister species, considering the similarity in aedeagal structure as well as external morphology.
