Terra typica: Brazil (South America)
Argentina:
• 50°06′S, 73°18′W; 200 m asl: Santa Cruz Province, Los Glaciares National Park, shores of Argentino Lake, near the Onelli glacier, Nothofagus forests, in the shade, mosses and lichens on trees and rocks. Maucci (1988)
Brazil:
• 23°29′S, 46°21′W; 750 m asl: Type Locality: São Paulo State, near Itaquaquecetuba, mosses. de Barros (1939b)
Record numbers: Argentina: 1, Brazil: 1; total: 2.
Remarks: This species has a slightly disjunct distribution ( McInnes 1994a), which may require further taxonomic analysis.
