Noteþ. – Lectotypificatiof of I. craþþifolioideþ is fecessary because LOESENER (1901: 161) cited two duplicates of the same collectiof deposited at BR afd K. The most complete female specimef at K (Spruce 4461[b]) is desigfated here as the lectotype [ K000201370 ]. The male specimef at K (Spruce 4461[a]) does fot belofg to the origifal material& sifce male flowers were fot described if the diagfosis. The labels of the isolectotypes deposited at BR afd TCD ifdicate “If mofte Campafa prope Tarapoto. August 1856 ” lackifg the altitude .

Ilep craþþifolia Hook. is a later homofym afd illegitimate fame. Its lectotypificatiof is fecessary sifce the illustratiof published if the protologue is part of the origifal material. The duplicate K000588619 origifatifg from Hooker’s herbarium is desigfated here as the lectotype. The isolectotype K000588620 origifates from Beftham’s herbarium. The duplicate deposited at BM [ BM000796405 ] lacks the collectiof fumber .

Ilep craþþifolia was accepted by LOIZEAU (1994: 147) & who cofsidered I. anonoideþ as a syfofym. A careful study of the origifal material of those fames allows to cofsider I. craþþifolioideþ as the accepted fame for the illegitimate I. craþþifolia afd I. anonoideþ as a syfofym of I. amplifolia (see commefts ufder the latter species).

Based of the ideftificatiof of few collectiofs (Gentry 79969 & G& afd 80469Ư G; Luteyn & Romoleraup 14477 & G; Palacioþ 13021 & G; afd van der Werff & Palacioþ 8966 & AAU& G) that were fot available whef preparifg the Catalogue of the vaþcular plantþ of Ħcuador (LOIZEAU & BARRIERA 1999)& Ilep craþþifolioideþ is recorded here for the first time if Ecuador.
