Material studied. Holotype: “Haaoipu, summit / 2700 ft. / VII. 9. 1930 // Tahuata / Marquesas Is. // Beating / Weinmannia / parviflora // Le Bronnec / & H. Taursa / Collectors // Pacific Entomo- / logical Survey // TYPE / maculatus [hw.] // Holotype ♂ / No. 600 / Germalus / maculatus / Van Duzee [hw.]” (#m, BPBM).
Diagnosis. Similar to G. lateralis in general facies, but differs in the following: Corium with irregular spots basally and on membranal margin. Posterodorsal edge of abdominal connexiva with brownish spots. Clavus with irregular punctation medially. MTSEA with peritremal surface oblong, slightly curved; ostiole drop-shaped with vestibular scar slight but complete.
Distribution. Known as endemic to Marquesas Islands.
