Etymology. The species name refers to the specialized form of mandible.
Description. ♂. Body length 11–13 mm.
Head. Flagellum with 37 flagellomeres, slender, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomeres 3.8–5.0 × longer than wide, distal flagellomeres ± nodose. Temple short, strongly and almost linearly narrowed behind eye (fig. 7B). OED 1.4 × and OOD 1.0 × ocellar diameter. Frons smooth ventrally, with distinct longitudinal or oblique striae dorsally. Face and clypeus densely punctate, ± shining. Face moderately bulging medially. Clypeus slightly convex, 1.7–1.8 × wider than long; apical margin sharp and moderately rounded (fig. 7C). Mandible long and slender, with complete ventral lamella, strongly narrowed behind base, ventral tooth much smaller than dorsal one and slightly bent inwards. Gena densely punctate. Malar space 0.8–1.1 × longer than width of mandibular base.
Mesosoma . Side of pronotum with rather superficial punctures dorsally, almost smooth ventrally.Epomia present. Notaulus impressed in frontal 1/5 of mesoscutum. Mesoscutum densely rugose-punctate, ± dull. Mesopleuron densely punctate; speculum large, smooth. Metapleuron densely punctate; juxtacoxal carina present. Scutellum pyramidal, about as long as wide, with dense coarse punctation and with lamelliform lateral carina in frontal 0.7 (fig. 7D). Propodeum coarsely rugose-punctate; spiracle slit-shaped. Area basalis indicated as slightly elevated smooth area. Area superomedia small, about 2.0 × longer than wide; costula reaching its frontal 0.4. Area dentipara and area posteroexterna confluent (fig. 7E). Apophysis absent. Area petiolaris with transverse striae. Legs slender. Fore metatarsus without apical tooth. Hind femur 5.1–5.4 × longer than wide. Claws with some short basal teeth. Areolet pentagonal, frontal distance between veins 2rs-m and 3rs-m 2.0 × their width. Vein 1cu-a interstitial. Nervellus of hind wing reclivous, intercepted in apical 0.8.
Metasoma. Postpetiole moderately widened; median field almost hump-like raised, coarsely rugose-punctate; lateral field densely punctate. 2 nd tergite 1.3–1.5 × wider than long. Gastrocoelus strongly impressed, with fine longitudinal ridges. Thyridium slightly oblique, 1.1–1.5 × wider than the interval between thyridia (fig. 7F). 2 nd to 5 th tergites with distinct denticular spines at posterolateral edges (fig. 7G). 2 nd to 6 th tergites coarsely rugose-punctate; 2 nd to 4 th tergites ± striate medially. 2 nd to 4 th sternites with median folds. Hypopygium unmodified, apical margin moderately rounded.
Colour. Black with extensive ivory coloration. Flagellum black, central flagellomeres ± reddish-brown ventrally. Ivory are palps, mandible except teeth, labrum, clypeus, face, gena, outer orbit and frontal orbit up to lateral ocellus, propleuron, frontal and upper margins of pronotum, central round spot of mesoscutum, spot on tegula, subtegular ridge, epicnemium, wide ventral stripe and small dorso-apical spot of mesopleuron, upper division and central spot of metapleuron, apical 2/3 of scutellum, postscutellum, area posteroexterna and area dentipara of propodeum mainly, petiole, posterolateral spots on 1 st to 5 th tergites (medially confluent on 2 nd tergite), entire 7 th tergite and parameres. 1 st to 3 rd tergite sometimes with diffuse reddish-brown suffusion medially. Fore and mid coxae and trochanters ivory; hind coxa black or brown, with dorsal and ventral ivory spots. Fore and mid femora, tibiae and tarsi yellowish, with long brown stripes; hind femur reddish, sometimes diffusely yellow basally, blackish in apical 0.3–0.6; hind tibia blackish, with wide yellow subbasal ring; hind tarsus black. Wings hyaline; pterostigma brown.
Distribution. Borneo and Laos.
