Zonitoschema yunnanum Kaszab, 1960 stat. nov.

Zonitoschema macroxantha yunnana Kaszab, 1960: 262 . Type locality: “ 30 km SW. von Kinping, Yunnan ” (= Jinping, Yunnan), China. Type depository: IZCAS.

Material examined from China. 1 ex., Yunnan, Mengla, Bubang (N21°36.683’ E101°35.067’, Elev. 680 m), 2017. V.18, Li Zhaoxu & Ji Qiaoqiao leg. ( MHBU) .

Distribution. China: Yunnan.

Remarks. The type specimens were deposited at IZCAS according to the records of Kaszab (1960). However, we did not find them neither at IZCAS nor at HNHM.

This species was published as subspecies of Zonitoschema macroxantha (Fairmaire, 1887) by Kaszab (1960) mainly for having the apex of elytra black (“...unterscheidet sich aber von ihr durch die abweichende Färbung. Das Ender der Flügeldecken schmal schwarz...”). In a taxonomic revision of the genus Zonitoschema from Palaearctic and Oriental regions in preparation (Bologna & Pan unpublished), the coloration of the elytra resulted as a diagnostic character for the species. The elytra of Z. macroxantha is total yellow, without any black apical fascia. Additionally, the male genitalia showed differences (see Figs 7, 8 ). Therefore, we proposed that Z. macroxantha yunnana should be raised to the species status, Z. yunnanum stat. nov.
