Catumiri Guadanucci, 2004: 2 . Type species by original designation, C. petropolium Guadanucci, 2004 .

Emended diagnosis (from Guadanucci 2004): Catumiri differs from other Ischnocolinae genera except Dolichothele by the labium being much wider than long and with few cuspules (fewer than 10) and maxilla (fewer than 14) (see Guadanucci 2004, figs. 3F, 15). Catumiri differs from Dolichothele by the anterior tarsal scopula divided by a longitudinal band of setae (see Guadanucci 2004, figs. 3F, 15), except in females of C. petropolium , with tarsal scopulae of legs I undivided, spermathecae receptacles each with one or more apical terminus (see Guadanucci 2004, figs. 9, 11–12, 20; Fig. 3D), by the presence of a row of teeth on the prolateral margin of the male tarsal claws (see Guadanucci 2004, fig. 3), and by the clavate trichobothria disposed in a short median distal row in dorsal tarsi. Specimens of Catumiri resemble those of Ischnocolus , despite their disjunct geographical distributions (the latter in South America and the former in northern Africa and the Middle East) by the shape of the labium ( Figs. 3B, 4B, 5B), few labial and maxillary cuspules ( Figs. 3B, 4B, 5B), and the disposition of tarsal clavate trichobothria. Catumiri can be distinguished from Ischnocolus by the shape of the cymbial lobes (lobes similar in Catumiri and unequal in Ischnocolus ), morphology of the male palpal bulb ( Figs. 4E–F, 5E–F), and by the great number of spines on male tibia I in Ischnocolus (see Montemor et al. 2020, figs. 1D–F, 3D–F). Females of Catumiri can be distinguished from those of Ischnocolus by the spermathecae receptacles each with one apical terminus (except C. petropolium , Fig. 3D). The female of C. petropolium can be distinguished from females of Ischnocolus by the presence of three square marks on the dorsal mid line of the opisthosoma ( Figs. 1B, 3C).
