Platycranus lindbergi Wagner, 1954: 10 View in CoL [n.sp.]; Carvalho, 1958: 125 [cat.]; Schuh, 1995: 182 [cat.]; Wagner, 1974: 145 [descr.]
Diagnosis. Distinguished by the following combinations of characters: relatively small size (4.9–5.4), pale coloration ( Figs. 5–6 View FIGURES 1 – 11 , 39–40 View FIGURES 34 – 45 ), first antennal segment relatively long, 0.6–0.7 × as long as width of head, with dense, long scalelike setae, right paramere with extension at base (Fig. 113), interramal lobes weakly twin-coned ( Fig. 173 View FIGURES 169 – 174 ), sclerotized rings of dorsal labiate plate with weakly protruded inner distal angle (Fig. 158). Most similar to P. hartigi and P. putoni but differs from the former in the smaller body size and from the latter in having a narrow head, 1.6 × as wide as the length of the first antennal segment in male and 1.4 × in female.
Redescription. Male. Middle-sized, 4.9–5.1. COLORATION. Head: uniformly yellow ( Figs. 39–40 View FIGURES 34 – 45 ). Thorax: pronotum, exposed part of mesonotum, scuto-scutellar suture, meso- and metapleura uniformly yellow or with greenish tinge. Hemelytron: yellow or greenish yellow. Legs: yellow to pale brown, third tarsal segment darker, pale brown to brown. Abdomen: dorsally brown, ventrally yellow. SURFACE AND VESTITURE. Mesial stiff setae on first antennal segment absent; antenna with brown simple setae and relatively long scalelike setae. STRUCTURE. Head: posterior margin slightly concave; vertex 1.24–1.33 × as wide as eye; first antennal segment 1.5 × as wide as second segment and 0.61–0.64 × as long as width of head; second antennal segment 1.89–1.91 × as long as width of head and 1.72–1.78 × as long as width of pronotum. Thorax: pronotum with straight anterior and posterior margins, 1.61–1.93 × as wide as long and 1.07–1.11 × as wide as head. Hemelytron: cuneus 2.5 × as long as wide. Legs: third tarsal segment nearly equal in length to first and second combined; pulvillus relatively short, not reaching midpoint of claw. GENITALIA. Genital segment with spines on apex of ventral side ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 74 – 79 ); left paramere as in Fig. 88 View FIGURES 85 – 88 ; right paramere with extension at base (Fig. 113).

Female. Middle-sized, 5.4. COLORATION, SURFACE, AND VESTITURE. As in male. STRUCTURE. Similar to male except larger interocular distance, vertex 2.42 × as wide as eye, labium reaching only forecoxa; first antennal segment twice as wide as second, 0.74 × as long as width of head; second antennal segment 2.0 3 × as long as width of head and 1.72 × as long as width of pronotum; pronotum 1.62 × as wide as long and 1.18 × as wide as head. GENITALIA. Interramal lobes weakly twin-coned ( Fig. 173 View FIGURES 169 – 174 ); sclerotized rings of dorsal labiate plate with weakly protruded inner distal angle (Fig. 158).
Distribution. So far known exclusively from the type locality, Canary Islands, Spain (Fig. 58).
