Subfamily Amphipyrinae Guenée View in CoL
Genus Amphipyra Ochsenheimer, 1816: 70 View in CoL
Type species: Phalaena tragopoginis Clerck, 1759 [1764]: pl. [1] fig. 5 (but included by Ochsenheimer as ‘tragopogonis ’, an incorrect subsequent spelling), by subsequent designation by Duponchel, in Godart & Duponchel (1829): 71, but cited as ‘ tragopogonis’.
= Scotophila Hübner, [1821] View in CoL 1816: 209 (TS: Phalaena tyagopoginis Clerck, 1759 [1764], but included by Hübner as ‘tragopogonis Linn’, an incorrect subsequent spelling and authorship), by subsequent designation by Blanchard, in Castelnau (1840): 500 (but cited as ‘ tragopoginis View in CoL Linn’, an incorrect authorship). Scotophila View in CoL is a junior objective synonym of Amphipyra Ochsenheimer, 1816 View in CoL .
= Pyrophyla Hübner [1806] (Included in a work rejected for nomenclatural purposes by Int. Commn zool. Nom., 1926, Opinion 97: 19). Pyrophyla was not used again in zoology. A similar name Pyrophila Stephens, 1829 View in CoL , was subsequently proposed.
= Pyrophila Stephens, 1829: 164 View in CoL (TS: Phalaena tragopoginis Clerck, 1759 View in CoL [1764], by subsequent designation by Westwood (1840): 94, but an invalid type designation. Pyrophila View in CoL is a junior objective synonym of Amphipyra Ochsenheimer, 1816 View in CoL .
= Philopyra Guenée, 1838: 222 View in CoL (Proposed, unnecessarily, as an objective replacement name for Pyrophila Stephens, 1829 View in CoL )
= Neocomia Rougemont, 1901: 372 View in CoL (TS: Amphipyra satinea Rougemont, 1901: 371 View in CoL )
= Pyramidcampa Beck, [1992] View in CoL 1991: 218 (TS: Phalaena (Noctua) pyramidea Linnaeus, 1758: 518 View in CoL ) = Adpyramidcampa Beck, [1992] View in CoL 1991: 219 (TS: Amphipyra effusa Boisduval, 1829: 68 View in CoL )
= Adamphipyra Beck, [1992] View in CoL 1991: 219 (TS: Noctua livida View in CoL [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775: 85)
= Tetrapyra Beck, [1992] View in CoL 1991: 219 (TS: Noctua tetra Fabricius, 1787: 138 View in CoL )
= Antiamphipyra Beck, [1992] 1991: 220 (TS: Amphipyra micans Lederer, 1857: 94 View in CoL )
= Anpyramidea Beck, 1996: 7 View in CoL , 51 (TS: Amphipyra stix Herrich-Schäffer, [1850] View in CoL : 324, (41): f. 473)
= Obtuscampa Beck, 1996: 7 View in CoL , 52 (TS: Noctua perflua Fabricius, 1787: 179 View in CoL )
