( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 10 , 11–15 View FIGURES 11 – 15 )
Diagnosis. Apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1+2 close to vein tip, apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1+2 confluent (or narrowly separated); apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities almost at same vertical level of spot on dm-cu (or apical spot on R4+5 beyond that on R2+3 and dm-cu); a spot constricted at middle on dm-cu. Male abdominal tergites 2–6 (female 2–7) each with dark posterior margin, male tergites 4–6 (female 4–7) each with a dark triangular median spot connected with dark posterior margin.
Description. MALE. Body length 5.0– 5.4 mm, wing length 4.6–5.3 mm. FEMALE. Body length 4.5–5.6 mm, wing length 4.9–5.4 mm.
Head yellow to brownish yellow. Frons about as long as wide and parallel–sided, with 2 brown stripes extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle brownish; oc developed, about as long as anteriormost or; gena about 1/8 height of eye. Antenna yellow to brownish yellow, 1st flagellomere 1.8 times as long as wide; arista dark except brownish base, with longest hairs as long as width of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow, with yellowish hairs and slightly dark hairs; palpus yellow, with dark hairs.
Thorax yellow to brownish yellow. Mesoscutum with 0+3 dc (anteriormost dc clearly behind transverse scutal suture), acr in 10 somewhat irregular rows, uniformly short hair–like; prsc longer than 1st post–sutural dc. Legs yellowish to brownish yellow. Fore femur with 5 strong pv, 9 pd, and ctenidium with 11 short bristles; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad, 8 short pd and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical bristles distinct) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 weak preapical ad and 1 short apv; 1st tarsomere with rows of short and dense v. Wing ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) tinged yellowish, apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1+2 close to vein tip; apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1+2 confluent or narrowly separated; apical spots on R2+3 and R4+5 with basal extremities almost at same vertical level of spot on dm-cu (or apical spot on R4+5 beyond that on R2+3 and dm-cu); a spot on dm-cu constricted at middle; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1+2) sections in proportion of 2.7: 0.7: 0.6; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M1+ 2 in proportion of 1.6: 2.3; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/6 of penultimate. Halter yellow.
Abdomen yellow to brownish yellow. Male tergites 2–6 (female 2–7) each with dark posterior margin and male tergites 4–6 (female 4–7) each with a dark triangular median spot connected with posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 11–15 View FIGURES 11 – 15 ): protandrium circular with a hair around spiracle; surstylus short broad with a short digitiform apical process in lateral view; hypandrium Y–shaped, gonopod long and subulate; aedeagal apodeme almost as long as aedeagus, aedeagus long with a narrow and deep apical incision.
Type material. Holotype male, Hainan: Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village (430 m), 21. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang. Paratypes: 2 males, 1 female, Hainan: Wuzhishan National Nature Reserve, Guanshantai (600 m), 29. X. 2007, Xingyue Liu; 1 male, 1 female, Hainan: Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village (430 m), 21. V. 2007, Junhua Zhang; 1 male, Hainan: Yinggeling National Nature Reserve, Hongmao village (430 m), 20. V. 2007, Kuiyan Zhang.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Remarks. The spots on the wing and abdominal tergites of examined specimens vary distinctly with different collecting localities and seasons. The new species is somewhat similar to Homoneura (Neohomoneura) turbida Sasakawa from Viet Nam in spots on the wing and abdomen, but it can be separated from the latter by the surstylus broadened with a short digitiform apical process and the hypandrium Y–shaped. In turbida , the surstylus is narrow, triangular without the apical process; the hypandrium is H–shaped ( Sasakawa, 2001). Etymology. Latin, feminine, ‘ digitata ’ = digitate, referring to the digitate surstylus.
