Labial palpus white on inner surface, pale fuscous mixed with gray laterally. Antenna with scape white, pecten dark fuscous; flagellum grayish white, ringed with black. Legs predominantly yellowish white; foreleg with femur bearing dense fuscous transverse striae on inner surface, tibia dark fuscous on inner surface, dotted with fuscous on outer surface near base and at middle, tarsus blackish fuscous on inner surface and on distal part of each tarsomere; midleg with tibia dotted with blackish gray dorsally near base, tarsus blackish gray distally on each tarsomere; hindleg with tarsus blackish gray on distal part of each tarsomere. Thorax white; tegula golden. Forewing ratio 4.0; ground color pale grayish white, suffused with dark gray dots, denser in distal 2/5, below basal 2/5 of both costa and fold tinged with golden yellow scales, paler towards distal end; costa with blackish-gray spot before middle and at 3/5; curved blackish-gray streak from end of cell to costa before apex; dorsal streak blackish gray, extending from before middle of wing obliquely outward across lower margin of cell; cilia blackish gray except grayish white at base and before tip, grayish white on termen and tornus. Hindwing grayish white; cilia pale grayish white. Abdomen dark gray dorsally, yellowish white ventrally.
Venation: Forewing with R4 and R5 stalked; hindwing with M3 and CuA1 stalked.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 85 View FIGURES 84 – 89 , 142 View FIGURES 141 – 143 , 198 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ): Tuba analis slightly shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 10̄14 scale-like setae, bearing a single seta posteriorly ( Fig. 198 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ). Valva subovate, distal 3/5 slightly narrowed to rounded apex; transtilla short. Saccus wide basally, abruptly narrowed distally. Phallus almost straight, 4.5 times as long as width of valva; cornutus about 1/3 length of phallus, with about eight strong denticles, distal two or three denticles shorter and truncate apically ( Figs. 142, 142 View FIGURES 141 – 143 a). Second sternite with five to eight micro-setae in each row; eighth sternite Y-shaped, with stem longer than twice length of each branch. Coremata present.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 254 View FIGURES 253 – 255 ): Ovipositor 2.5 times as long as eighth segment. Anterior apophysis 4/5 length of posterior apophysis, bifurcate at distal 2/5; branch bifurcate a second time, its dorsal branch extending to lamella postvaginalis, ventral branches joined and forming ventral margin of ostium bursae. Lamella postvaginalis hourglass-shaped, deeply concave anteriorly, with concavity sometimes extending to near posterior margin. Antrum elongate funnel-shaped, equal to eighth segment in length. Ductus bursae evenly widened anteriorly; ductus seminalis originating from before middle. Corpus bursae oval, with denticles, sparser anteriorly; signum anvil- shaped, with slender lateral horns extending outward.

Distribution. China (Inner Mongolia, Shanxi).
Diagnosis. This new species resembles A. (B.) aureola in the female genitalia, but it can be separated from the latter by forewing pattern and features of the male genitalia. In A. (B.) sporadolepis the pale grayish-white forewing has blackish-gray pattern elements, and the phallus lacks micro-denticles on the outer surface distally in the male genitalia. In A. (B.) aureola the blackish gray forewing has golden pattern elements, and the phallus has a row of micro-denticles on the outer surface distally.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin sporadolepis , meaning with suffused scales, referring to the suffused dark gray dots on the forewing.
