Antenna with scape white, pecten yellowish fuscous; flagellum grayish white, ringed with black. Foreleg predominantly yellowish white, femur densely covered with gray transverse striae on inner surface, tibia blackish fuscous on inner surface, with blackish-fuscous dot at base, middle, and distally on outer surface, tarsus blackish fuscous at apex of each tarsomere; midleg predominantly yellowish white, tibia with black dot dorsally near base and at middle, tarsus black distally on each tarsomere; hindleg white mixed with gray, tarsus black on distal part of each tarsomere. Thorax white; tegula golden. Forewing ratio 4.0; ground color blackish gray, with blue reflection under vertical light; costa with several indistinct white dots, white dot at about distal 1/10 largest; golden streak extending below basal 2/7 of fold; golden spot at basal 3/10 of cell; two parallel golden dorsal fasciae running from basal 1/3 and before middle of wing extending obliquely outward to costal at 2/5 and 3/ 5, respectively; termen with three ill-defined golden dots; cilia grayish white at base and before tips, gray near tornus. Hindwing and cilia uniformly gray. Abdomen dark gray dorsally, pale gray ventrally.
Venation ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ). Forewing with R4 and R5 separate; hindwing with M3 and CuA1 stalked.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 84 View FIGURES 84 – 89 , 141 View FIGURES 141 – 143 , 197 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ). Tuba analis shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 19 scale-like setae, bearing a single seta posteriorly ( Fig. 197 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ). Valva with basal 2/5 uniform in width, distal 3/5 slightly narrowed to rounded apex; transtilla curved nearly 90° at middle. Saccus triangular, truncate anteriorly. Phallus nearly straight, 5.5 times as long as width of valva, with a row of micro-denticles on outer surface distally ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 141 – 143 b); cornutus with three strong denticles elongated towards apex ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 141 – 143 a). Second sternite with five microsetae in each row; eighth sternite Y-shaped. Coremata present.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 253 View FIGURES 253 – 255 ). Ovipositor 2.5 times as long as eighth segment. Anterior apophysis 4/5 length of posterior apophysis, bifurcate at distal 1/3; branch bifurcate a second time, dorsal branch extending to lamella postvaginalis, ventral branches joined and forming ventral margin of ostium bursae. Lamella postvaginalis nearly inverted V-shaped. Antrum elongate funnel-shaped, 1.5 times as long as eighth segment. Ductus bursae evenly widened anteriorly; ductus seminalis originating from middle. Corpus bursae oval, with dense denticles, sparser anteriorly; signum with horns slightly curved inward, C-shaped.

Distribution. China (Hebei, Shanxi).
Diagnosis. This new species is similar to A. (B.) chamaecypariae Moriuti, 1969 in forewing pattern, but it is distinguished by features of the genitalia. In A. (B.) aureola the phallus is 5.5 times as long as the width of the valva in the male genitalia, and the antrum is 1.5 times as long as the eighth segment in the female genitalia; in A. (B.) chamaecypariae the phallus is 3.3 times as long as the width of valva, and the antrum is as long as the eighth segment. The new species is similar to A. (B.) sporadolepis in the female genitalia, and a diagnosis is provided under the latter species.
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin aureolus, meaning golden, indicating the golden streaks and fasciae on the forewing.
