Compared with Hayman et al. (1966: map 14), the distribution for this species has been extended in the eastern part of the DRC into Burundi, and in the southwestern part of the DRC, but in the northwestern part of the country it seems to be lacking. The specimens from Boende seem a bit out of place, as Thomas & Henry (2013b: 271) mentioned that it avoids the Congolian rainforest except around its edges. Monfort (1992: 142) believes this species occurs in Rwanda, based on a reference to “Ruanda- Urundi ” by Schouteden (1947) and the locality “Congo-Nil-Aka” mentioned by Hayman et al. (1966: 27 - RBINS 13522). Monfort claims this locality to refer to “Nil-Akagera”, which is in Rwanda and not in Burundi, but Hayman et al. (1966: 81) provide coordinates for “Congo-Nil-Akka”, 04°35′ N, 29°45′ E, which put it in the Garamba National Park on the border with South Sudan.
