Type species: Thoradonta dentata Hancock, 1909 .

Body small, width of vertex equal to or narrower than width of one eye; frontal costa elevated, antennae filiform, inserted below lower margin of compound eyes, lateral ocelli inserted below the middle of the compound eyes height. Eyes globular, pronotum truncate, anteriorly, tegmen elongate or oblong. Hind wings developed, abbreviated or absent; hind femora robust, crassate, first and third segment of hind tarsi subequal in length.
