Material examined.— HOLOTYPE: male, BRAZIL, Amazonas, Manaus, Reserve Campina, 08–19.VI.1992, Stick trap, Vidal col. ( INPA). PARATYPES: BRAZIL, Amazonas, Manaus, 1 male, Reserve 1208, 04.II.1986, Malaise trap, B. Klein col. ( INPA); 2 males, Reserve Campina, Km 60. 09.III–16.IV.1990, Malaise trap, B. Klein col. ( INPA); 1 male, Reserve Campina, 08–19.VI.1992, Stick trap, Vidal col. ( INPA).

Remark.—The genitalia of this species is very similar to those of A. paraensis (Kieffer, 1910) , A. quadrata Evans, 1963 and A. laticeps Evans, 1963 , but the lateral pair of apical lobes of the aedeagus is different in being domeshaped.

Etymology.—The name refers to the earshaped outer side of the aedeagus.
