Material: Eight specimens: Al Aridah 4.V.1981 (1Ψ, 1ɗ) (Al Balqa University), 28.III.2001 (1ɗ, 1Ψ); Ar Rumman 13.V.1991 (1Ψ, 1ɗ), 6.VI.1988 (1ɗ); Jarash 1.VI.1980 (1Ψ).

Distribution: Palaearctic: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Gruzia, Iran, Italy, Macedonia, Palestine, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Yugoslavia.

Adults suck the nectar of flowers especially of the Pink Scabious and Thistle ( Austen, 1937). The larvae of these flies are important consumers of egg pods of locusts ( Acrididae ) ( Austen, 1937 and du Merle, 1975).
