Agnosthaetus truncatus View in CoL species-group
This probably monophyletic species-group includes the species Agnosthaetus truncatus Clarke and Agnosthaetus sculptus Clarke , which can be distinguished from all other species of Agnosthaetus by the combination of distinct microsculpture on the head and thorax, sublongitudinal ridge of head indistinct to more or less absent (similar to Fig. 11 View Figs , cf. Fig. 10 View Figs , sr), shallow, indistinct, and sparse dorsal punctation of the head (with punctures separated by 0.5–1.0X puncture diameter; cf. the thayerae species-group, with which these two species are most similar), (one or) two lateral elytral ridges ( Fig. 24 View Figs , ek, mr), and male labral apex with two distinctly enlarged, rounded, contiguous, dorsally projecting medial teeth ( Figs. 171, 174 View Figs , which may sometimes appear as one large rounded tooth).
