Gitau et al. (2011a) made the most recent revision of the genus. They retained only three valid species Zophiuma pupillata ( Stål, 1863) View in CoL , Z. butawengi ( Heller, 1966) View in CoL and Z. doreyensis ( Heller, 1966) View in CoL . Based on molecular characters, they could make a clear difference between the specimens they identified as Z. pupillata View in CoL and Z. butawengi View in CoL . As an addition and to distinguish the male genitalia, and which parts belong to the aedeagus and periandrium, we performed some dissection of male genitalia for all the species we were able to examine. Gitau et al. (2011a) also provided a key to the species. We provide here a key based on male characters in order to include the 2 new species here described and to take into consideration the new synonymy we have proposed.
