MycoBank:—858987

Etymology:—urbana, means the habitat of this new species.

Diagnosis:—Differs from Limacella delicata by its dry and striated pileus, easy-off pileipellis, nearly smooth stipe and lacking universal veils.

Holotype:— CHINA. Shanxi Province: Qi County, Changyuan River Wetland Park, on the ground near to Pinus tabuliformis and Populus sp. , 16 July 2022, collected by J.Z. Cao CF1269 (BJTC FM2606).

Description:— Basidiomata medium. Pileus 83–93 mm diam, dry, convex to plano-convex when younger, edge upwarped at maturity, with a broad umbo, with distinct striate reaching half of the pileus, reddish brown (#c05925) to brown (#86584b) at centre, gradually transitioning to white (#ffffff) and then to pale yellow (#fafafa) towards the edges, surface dry when drying; pileipellis easily peeling off from trama; trama white. Lamellae free, crowded, white (#ffffff) to yellow (#fff2eb), lamellulae 1–2 tiers. Stipe 81–90 × 9–10 mm diam, subcylindrical, light brown (#e4d4cc) to reddish brown (#b07539), smooth or covered with a few of fibrous substance. Annulus absent.

Basidiospores [60/2/2] (3.5–) 4–5 (–6) × (3–) 4–5 μm, Q = 1.0–1.3, Q m = 1.15 ± 0.15, globose to subglobose, sometimes broadly ellipsoid, inamyloid, non-dextrinoid, colorless, hyaline, slightly thick-walled, (≤ 0.5 μm thick), smooth; guttulate, apiculus distinct. Basidia 20–35(–42) × 5–9 μm, clavate, colorless, hyaline, 4-spored; sterigmata 1– 3 cm long, with clamp at basal septa. Lamellar trama bilateral. Mediostratum 25–37.5 μm wide, composed of hyphae arranged longitudinally. Lateral stratum composed of abundant inflated cells (60–150 × 10–27.5μm) and filamentous hyphae (2.5–10 μm wide), diverging at a certain angle to the mediostratum. Subhymenium 37.5-50 μm thick, consisting of 2–3 layers of globose, subglobose, or irregular cells. Pleurocystidia and cheilocystidia absent. Pileipellis 70–120 μm thick, an ixotrichoderm composed of filamentous hyphae 3–6 μm in width, hyphae nearly cylindrical, smooth. Stipitipellis comprised of longitudinally arranged hyphae 2–4 μm in width, pale yellow (#f2eddf) to brown (#9a7a1f). Stipe trama composed of filamentous hyphae 2.5–10 μm in width, with numerous branches, colorless, hyaline; inflated cells present (100–150 × 17.5–37.5 μm). Clamps present.

Habitat:—On ground in small groups in urban park, near to Pinus tabuliformis . and Populus sp.

Distribution:—Only known from Shanxi Province, northern China.

Additional specimens examined:— CHINA. Shanxi Province: Qi County, Changyuan River Wetland Park, near to Pinus tabuliformis . and Populus sp. , 16 July 2022, collected by J.Z. Cao CF1244 (BJTC FM2703).
