Zatypota grachilipes Uchida & Momoi, 1958: 29 . Type Ψ, (SEHU).

Female. Head ( Figs 7 View FIGURES 1 – 13 , 20 View FIGURES 14 – 25 ). Flagellum with 17–18 segments; frons impunctate and polished; face and clypeus almost smooth, with rather short pubescence, the former weakly separated from the latter by a shallow supraclypeal suture, slightly convex in lateral view; face between antennal socket and supraclypeal suture 0.8–0.9 x its minimum width between eyes, with a pair of shallow vertical furrows arising from supraclypeal suture; clypeus 1.9 x its length, with apical margin broadly truncate, slightly concave at the middle; eye bare, its inner margin almost straight to very slightly convergent downward; ocelli of moderate size, the distance between eye and lateral ocellus 1.1 x maximum diameter of the latter; mandible with upper tooth wider and much longer than the lower, strongly tapered basally, and only slightly tapered apically, about 0.6 x as wide as the basal width at the middle, outer face of mandible with some rather long pubescence; palpi formula 4: 3; malar space about 0.7 x basal width of mandible, granulate between lower end of eye and upper end of mandible base; hypostomal carina very narrowly lamellate between the lower articulation of mandible and junction of occipital and hypostomal carinae; vertex with inter-ocellar area weakly raised; outline of gena slightly rounded, with both sides moderately convergent in dorsal view; occipital carina complete throughout, in dorsal view slightly bowed forward.

Mesosoma . Pronotum ( Figs 32 View FIGURES 26 – 37 , 44 View FIGURES 38 – 49 ) with anterior margin reflexed, thickened mediodorsally, produced into a backwardly directed tooth, a strong dorsomedian bridge connects it with hind margin, lateral face polished, with distinct epomia; upper end of epomia almost reaching to upper margin and lower part extend downward to reach lower margin; mesoscutum rather long, in front of scuto-scutellar groove 1.1 x as long as wide in dorsal view, almost bare and polished all over, with rather distinct notauli almost straight and convergent to a shallow hollow located at the middle of mesoscutum; mesoscutum moderately convex in lateral view; mesopleuron ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 50 – 61 ) with a distinct, weakly sinuate epicnemial carina, its upper end surpassing the level of lower corner of pronotum and rather far from posterior margin of pronotum, almost impunctate, bare and polished laterally, densely covered with pubescence ventrally, with a short but distinct groove below speculum; mesopleural suture foveolate; scutellum convex; lateral part of propodeum ( Figs 68 View FIGURES 62 – 73 , 80 View FIGURES 74 – 85 ) and metapleuron with rather dense pubescence; areas basalis and superomedia of propodeum fused, posterior transverse carina usually weak; lateromedian longitudinal carina parallel in front of posterior transverse carina; lateral longitudinal carina indistinct anteriorly; pleural carina complete; propodeal spiracle almost touching pleural carina, connected to it by rather broad carina; submetapleural carina ( Fig. 80 View FIGURES 74 – 85 ) complete, strong, with no projection anteriorly.

Wings. Fore wing ( Fig. 92 View FIGURES 86 – 97 ) with vein Rs+M basad of cu-a by 2 x the width of the vein, 2rs-m eliminated for vein Rs touching M; vein cu-a hardly inclined; vein Cu1a separated from 1m-cu by 0.5–0.6 x the length of Cu1b. Hind wing ( Fig. 104 View FIGURES 98 – 109 ) with vein M+ Cu moderately bowed; distal abscissa of Cu absent; vein cu-a slightly inclivous to vein 1A.

Legs. Legs very slender; fore femur 7 x as long as maximum width; hind femur about 8–10 x as long as maximum width: hind tibia 13–14 x as long as apical width; first tarsal segment of hind leg as long as second to fourth segments combined; fifth segment as long as the third.

Metasoma ( Fig. 116 View FIGURES 110 – 121 ). T1 with pair of posterolateral oblique impressions; the impression sharp and roundly bounded, with minute dense longitudinal ridges on them, with dorsomedian longitudinal carina extending to 0.9 of its length and gradually convergent in dorsal view; dorsolateral longitudinal carina usually distinct, reaching to posterior margin of T1, with spiracle located on it; T2 and following tergites almost impunctate and smooth; T2 with distinct and very sharply impressed anterolateral and posterolateral oblique grooves, defining a central evenly convex rhombic area; these grooves furnished with minute dense and distinct longitudinal ridges on them; T3–4 similar to T2, with anterior oblique groove more transverse, making the central areas triangular; T5 with weak posterolateral oblique groove; T1 1.3–1.4 x as long as apical width; T2 1.0–1.1 x as long as T1 and 0.9–1.0 x as long as apical width. Ovipositor rather short, projecting beyond apex of metasoma by 0.3–0.4 x length of hind tibia, straight; both upper and lower valves moderately thickened at apical 0.3, abruptly tapered behind it to very sharp point; lower valve slightly thickened basally, evenly tapered to sharp point.

Coloration. Head mostly blackish brown with following parts yellowish white: pedicel and scape below, lower half of clypeus, mandible except tip, palpi and lower margin of gena; flagellum brown. Mesosoma blackish brown; pronotum with ventral margin yellowish white, with postero-ventral corner lamellate and translucent; postero-dorsal corner of pronotum, tegula and subalar prominence yellowish white; mesopleuron dorsally pale brown, somewhat tinged with red, darker ventrally; scutellum and postscutellum whitish yellow; propodeum blackish brown, with postero-ventral corner pale brown; Legs whitish, slightly tinged with brown; hind femur with extreme base brown, with outer face somewhat darkened; hind tibia with short sub-basal obscure band and apical 0.25 tinged with brown. Wings hyaline, pterostigma brown. Metasomal tergites brown with lateral part of T3–5 light brown. Ovipositor brown, sheath blackish brown.

Length. Fore wing 3.0– 4.3 mm

Male. Similar to female but smaller; flagellum with 19 segments; clypeus much more convex; hind femur stouter, 5.0 x as long as maximum width.

Length. Fore wing 2.9–3.0 mm.

Host. Unknown.

Comments. This species can be distinguished from Japanese congeners by slender legs, almost perpendicular vein cu-a and Cu2 of forewing and having vein Cu2 longer than abscissa of Cu between Cu1 and 1m-cu. In Japan this species is known only from northern part (Hokkaido). There is no available information on its biology. Holotype of Zatypota gracilipes Uchida & Momoi , (female, 22.VIII.1957, “Apoi, Hokkaido”, (S.Momoi)) cannot be found in SEHU, where the type should be deposited.

Distribution records. Japan: Hokkaido; Sakhalin.
