( Figure 1 View Figure 1 )
Material. Holotype ♀, Northeast of Isfahan , Shahinshahr & Komshecheh , 13.vi. 2015, H. Rakhshani (card mounted); – Paratypes 2♀, 1♂, same data as holotype (slide mount- ed) ; 2♂, same data as holotype (card mounted, one individual missing head). All material deposited in the collection of the Institute of Entomology , Agricultural University of Georgia, Tbilisi ( IEAUG) .
Diagnosis. Copidosoma isfahan sp. n. is close to the following species: C. charon Guerrieri & Noyes, 2005 , C. filicorne (Dalman, 1820) and C. fulgens Sharkov, 1985 , howev- er it differs from these species by the characters given in Table 1 View Table 1 .
Description. Female. Length 1.34-1.4 mm (1.44-1.5 mm including exserted part of ovipositor). Holotype 1.4 mm (1.5 mm). – Body black; head with shiny golden-green metallic reflection; pronotum, mesoscutum, axillae similar colouration as head; scutellum with shiny purple-silver metallic reflection; propodeum, metanotum, gaster with shiny golden-green metallic reflection; mesopleuron with purple-silver metallic reflection; tegullae and legs almost all white, only mid and hind coxa dark, with some metallic reflection; wings hyaline. Head about two times as wide as frontovertex; frontovertex 1.2x as long as wide; scape about 4x as long as wide; mandible tridentate; pedicel plus funicle 1.65x as long as head wide; clava longer than F4-6; occiputal margin sharp; metasoma slightly longer than mesosoma and almost 2x as long as broad; mesoscutum almost 0.7x as long as broad; scutellum almost as long as or slightly longer than broad; sculpture on mesoscutum and scutellum little different, on the mesoscutum with round- ed polygonal cells, scutellum with little elongated, but with wide cells similar to that of mesoscutum; metasoma with ovipositor straight, and exserted part about 0.2-0.23x as long as metasoma (holotype 0.23) and as long as or very slightly longer than basitarsus; hypopygium reaching apex of gaster.
Relative measurement: HW (maximum head width) 19; FV (minimum frontovertex width) 10; POL (posterior ocellar line) 4; AOL (distance between posterior and anterior ocelli) 3; OOL (ocular-ocellar line) 1; OCL (occipital-ocellar line) 1.5; OD (greatest diameter of an ocellus) 2; EL (maximum eye length) 11; MS (malar space, i.e. shortest distance from the eye to mouth margin) 7; SL (scape length) 13, SW (maximum scape width) 2; FWL (maximum forewing length) 55; FWW (maximum forewing width) 25.
Male. 1.18- 1.28 mm. Colouration as female.
Biology. Gregarious endoparasitoid of Altenia mersinella ( Lepidoptera : Gelechiidae ) on Pistacia vera (Anacardiaceae) .
Distribution. Iran.
