Sphaerophthalma [ sic.] relata Cameron, 1895 . Biol. Cent.-Amer., Hym. 2:367. Holotype male, Mexico, N. Yucatan (Gaumer) (No. 15.852) [BMNH] (examined).
Diagnosis of Male. This species can be diagnosed by the following combination of characters, including coloration. It has the antennal scrobe carinate dorsally.. The lateral projection of the scutellum is pointed, but not inward as in D. yucatana . The first metasomal segment is very nodose. There is a pit on sternum II that is densely filled with pale setae. The pit is small, and located far anterior of center. The pygidium has an inconspicuous apical fringe of setae. The head, pronotum, scutellum, legs, and sternum are all clothed with pale setae. The mesosoma, and terga I to IV are clothed with black setae. Terga V and VI are clothed with pale setae. There is a pair of orange/yellow maculae on tergum II. The maculae are circular, distinct, and separated from one another. The remainder of the integument is black.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Mexico (Yucatan).
Remarks. This species is known only from the male holotype.
