Dasymutilla holotricha (Saussure)
Mutilla holotricha Saussure, 1867 . Ann. Ent. Soc. Fr. 7:361. Lectotype female, Mexico (Saussure) [MHNG] (examined).
Diagnosis of Female. This species is defined by the following unique combination of characters. The head is narrower than the mesosoma. The antennal scrobe is carinate, but a genal carina is absent. This species has the mesosoma rounded, as broad as long, and lacks a scutellar scale. Sternum II is merely punctate, not at all scabrous. The integument is entirely ferruginous, and tergum II lacks yellow to orange maculae. The pygidium is longitudinally striate. The head, mesosoma, and terga II and V are clothed with yellow setae. The apical fringe of tergum II, and terga III and IV entirely, are clothed with black setae. The setae are rather dense and erect. The remainder of the setae are pale, except for a spot of black setae on the dorsum of the propodeum.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. Mexico.
Remarks. This species is known only from the female lectotype.
