Found at 400± 980 m. ex Carthamus tenuis : 1M and 5F, Kousba, Koura Co. (North Lebanon). ex C. syriacum : 5M and 8F, El Khraizat, West Beqaa Co. (Beqaa Valley); 8M and 5F, Rayak, Zahleh Co. (Beqaa Valley).

Urophora mauritanica View in CoL was found in the ®eld from July to September. It is a specialist on Carthamus spp. and its distribution in Asia includes Israel and Turkey ( Freidberg, 1974; Neuenschwander and Freidberg, 1983; Foote, 1984; Freidberg and Kugler, 1989).
