The species has been reported from Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil and Guyana ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan 1985; Boulard and Martinelli 1996; Sanborn 2001, 2006b, 2007a,b) but no specific locations have been identified for Colombia.
