Diagnosis (after Holovachov 2014). The genus Haliplectus Cobb, 1913 is characterized by annulated cuticle, presence of body pores, absence of subcephalic and cervical sensilla, ocelli and deirid, inconspicuous cephalic and somatic setae, circular to unispiral amphidial fovea, long and narrow stoma terminating into smaller median bulb and larger muscular posterior bulb with well developed cuticular lining, females reproductive system monodelphic or didelphic with opposed reflexed ovaries, males diorchic with paired and opposed testes, spicules arcuate, presence of gubernaculum, presence or absence of precloacal papilliform sensilla, absence of supplements and postcloacal sensilla, conical or subcylindrical tail.
