Genus Hesperinus Walker, 1848 View in CoL View at ENA

The genus has frequently been placed in a family of its own, Hesperinidae (e.g., Krivosheina 1997, Skartveit 2009), however, recent, molecular studies (Sevčic et al. 2016) suggest it is relatively closely related to Penthetria . The genus has previously been found from the Oligocene of France ( Nel & Skartveit, 2012).
