Listed as Myrichthys oculatus and "common" by Clavijo et al. (1980:6).

Justification: UF (BIRNM, 7) and UF 183185 (3, 167–365 mm TL), Rod Bay ; on-line photographs available ( Pittman et al., 2008) .
