Type species. Trochus parnensis Bayan, 1870 View in CoL , type species by typification of replaced name, ( Cossmann 1920: 137), Eocene, France.
Diagnosis. Small to medium-sized sigaretiform shells with strongly prosocline aperture; deep umbilicus with deeply excavated umbilical atrium. Shell surface smooth or with weak spiral cords.
Remarks. The unique umbilical features characterize this genus, which is restricted to the Lutetian to Rupelian of the NE Atlantic and the Rupelian of the Western Tethys.
