Allantus fulvicornis Mocsáry, 1909
A junior subjective synonym of Tenthredo (Tenthredo) brevivertex brevivertex (Konow, 1905b) . Synonymy by Zhelochovtsev (1976a).
TYPES. Allantus fulvicornis Mocsáry, 1909: 20 –21. Syntypes 11 Ƥ, “Alai”. Secondary homonym of Tenthredo fulvicornis Mocsáry, 1909 [= Tenthredo crenata (Enslin, 1912) ]. Lectotype Ƥ, hereby designated ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 – 19. 17 ). Type locality: “Alai mont.” [= Alai, mountain range in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan].
= Tenthredo candida Enslin, 1912: 104 . Replacement name for Allantus fulvicornis Mocsáry, 1909 .
DISCUSSION. According to Mocsáry (1909), A. fulvicornis was based on 11 Ƥ. As already noted by Taeger (1988a), not 11 but 12 Ƥ of fulvicornis were found in the HNHM collection. There is no reason to exclude any of these specimens from the type series of fulvicornis . The lectotype of fulvicornis ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 – 19. 17 ) has sterna and terga 2 and 6 almost entirely black. The 11 specimens now remaining (all labelled as paralectotypes) show a rather wide variation in the extent of the pale colouration: the antenna may become rather dark ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 17 – 19. 17 ) and the abdomen much more extensively marked with yellow ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 17 – 19. 17 ).
