The genus is characterized by the eye completely black and three ocelli, the anterior ocellus sometimes being inconspicuous. Pronotum and mesonotum brown to orange. Legs light yellow, femora with long posteroventral setae. Wing 7–18 mm long. Male sternum nine wider than long with bristles longer laterally; hammer small and circular ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 8–15 ). Penial armature sclerotized, tapering apically to bifid, acute penial hooks.
