Description. Size. Length. 1.676 mm (n=5).

Colour. Specimens cleared, but faded colour seen in one specimen ( Fig.6E View FIGURE 6 ).

Head. Eight eyes, G and H smaller than E and F. Antennal length 713 μm, 2.3 times the length of the head. Ant IV with bilobed apical vesicle; relative length of Ant segments: 1/1.8/1.8/1.3. Sensory organ Ant III similar as figured in 32B. Labral papillae with a protrusion in each papilla. Four prelabral ciliated chaetae, 5,5,4 smooth labral chaetae. Lateral process of papilla E not reaching at the papilla tip. Posterior labial row with MREL 1 L 2 ciliated chaetae, R small than M.

Thorax and abdomen. Length ratio of Abd IV/III=3.1 (n=5). Tibiotarsus without differentiated chaetae, with exception of the presence of the smooth terminal chaetae on legs 3, characteristic for the genus. Unguis with 4 teeth: paired at 60% of the base, first unpaired tooth at 75 % from the base, dorsal tooth basal, but lateral at level of the internal paired. Unguiculus acuminated, narrow, external lamella of leg 3 serrate. Tenent hair clavate, longer than unguis. Trochanteral organ with around 15 chaetae. Manubrial plate with 4 chaetae and 2 pseudopores. Mucro bidentate, both teeth of similar size with mucronal basal spine. Mucro size15 micrometers and smooth distal part of dens twice length mucro.

Macrochaetotaxy. Simplified Mc formula: 3,1,0,3,2/2,3/2,3/1,2,1/0, 3(4),2,2. Head chaetotaxy ( Fig. 47A View FIGURE 47 ) Mac An 2, An 3a1, An 3 and A 5. M 2 and M 4 present as Mc. In sutural row S 0, S 1, S 2, S 3, S 4i, S 4, S 5i and S 5. Ps 2 and Ps 5 present. Thoracic chaetotaxy on Th II ( Fig. 47B View FIGURE 47 ) T1 area with Mac m 1 and m 2i, T2 area with Mc a 5, m 4 and m 4i. Abdominal chaetotaxy ( Fig. 47C View FIGURE 47 ): Abd II with a 2, a 3, m 3, m 3ep and m 3e, on Abd III a 1, a 2, a 3 and m 3 Mc present; Abd IV ( Fig. 47D View FIGURE 47 ) with Mc A 3 –A 6, A 4e (could be absent), B 3 –B 6 and C 2a. Sensillary formula as normal for Entomobrya . Bothriotricha on Abd IV in position T 2 and T 4 (0110).

Remarks. The chaetotaxy of the segments Abd II–III and the Th II on this new species’ group it with E. atrocincta Schött, 1896 , E. fainae Baquero & Jordana, 2018 , E. maroccana Baquero & Jordana, 2008 , E. melitensis Stach, 1963 and E. vergarensis Baquero et al., 2010 . The multispinose labral papilla separates it from E. atrocincta , E. fainae and E. maroccana . The colour is similar to that of E. melitensis , and E. vergarensis , but it is separated from them by the serrated external lamella on the unguiculus, which is smooth in these two species. It is also separated by the chaetotaxy of Abd IV: 0,2,3(4),2,2 Mc in E. zebra while it is 0,0,4,2,2 Mc in E. melitensis and 0,3,3,2,2 Mc in E. vergarensis .
