Distribution. Brazil: Pará*, Bahia; French Guiana.

Remarks. Protopolybia duckei has its type locality in Bahia, Brazil. Carpenter et al. (2011) revalidated P. duckei based on the external morphology of the female and on the male genitalia, which is different from that of P. emortualis . Furthermore, they recorded this species in French Guiana. Here, we present the first record of this species from the Brazilian Amazon.
