Material examined. INDIA: 1 ♁, 2 ♀♀: UTTARAKHAND: Nainital District , Mukteshwar. 2100–2150 m a.s.l. 25.02.2004. S. Saluk leg. (cSh) ; TAMIL NADU: 6 ♁♁, 10 ♀♀: Kodaikanal , Madurai. 1400 m a.s.l. 28.08.1989. A. Riedel leg. (cSh, SMNS) .
Remarks. Phloeonomus subopacus was originally described from “Chakrata District; Simla Hills...”. Steel (1960) redescribed it and transferred to the genus Paraphloeostiba . The species was known from the Himalayan regions of India ( Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand). It is here recorded from southern India ( Tamil Nadu) for the first time.
