03D8F45DFFC7947BFEDEF9D6FC4FFDDF.taxon	description	of both sexes from Spitzkopf and ProMata had golden / green mesonotum scales, and not, as referred (Lane 1953 b), coppery / green. Identification was confirmed by male genitalia. The species had been previously reported biting man in UCAD, and now is recorded breeding in bamboos in several localities of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. It has been shown as very common, besides some larvae of Wy. limai and Sa. melanonymphe Dyar and Toxorhynchites Theobald, in an extensive study of mosquito fauna in drilled bamboos, being developed in UCAD (Marcondes & Mafra 2003). Several other mosquitoes could not yet be identified at species level, depending on the future finding of immature forms and breeding of male adults. This occurred in Wy. pilicauda / incaudata, which females cannot be differentiated. Not all species in Wyeomyia were included above in subgenera, due to the controversial classification at this level (Guimarães 1997; Motta & LourençodeOliveira 2000).	en	Marcondes, Carlos Brisola, Fernandes, Aristides, Paterno, Uéslei, Müller, Gerson Azulim, Pinho, Luiz Carlos De, Struffaldi, Denis Volkman (2003): New records of mosquitoes from the southern Brazilian States of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, with 18 species new for the States (Diptera: Culicidae). 03D8F45DFFC6947BFEDEFD8CFBDCFC77.taxon	description	was referred in Ibirama and Concórdia (Santa Catarina) and North of Rio Grande do Sul (Kumm & Cerqueira 1951 b) and Hg. capricornii Lutz at Concórdia (Kumm & Cerqueira 1951 a). Oc. scapularis (Rondani) and “ sabetinos ” were collected near Carijós Park (Rachou et al. 1955). Some sabethines and other mosquitoes were referred in Santa Catarina (or in " meridional Brazil ”) (Lane & Cerqueira 1942; Lane 1953 a, 1953 b), besides Onirion brucei (Del Ponte & Cerqueira) (Harbach & Peyton 2000) and Aedes albopictus (LöwenbergNeto & NavarroSilva 2002), also collected in this state. Besides the records cited above in both states, all other studies on mosquitoes referred only to anophelines and to Cx. quinquefasciatus.	en	Marcondes, Carlos Brisola, Fernandes, Aristides, Paterno, Uéslei, Müller, Gerson Azulim, Pinho, Luiz Carlos De, Struffaldi, Denis Volkman (2003): New records of mosquitoes from the southern Brazilian States of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, with 18 species new for the States (Diptera: Culicidae). 03D8F45DFFC6947BFEDEFC24FD41FBFF.taxon	description	is reported here at Blumenau because it was referred (Lane & Cerqueira 1942) in this municipality, but not in Santa Catarina (Lane 1953 b), being difficult to clear which reference was incorrect.	en	Marcondes, Carlos Brisola, Fernandes, Aristides, Paterno, Uéslei, Müller, Gerson Azulim, Pinho, Luiz Carlos De, Struffaldi, Denis Volkman (2003): New records of mosquitoes from the southern Brazilian States of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, with 18 species new for the States (Diptera: Culicidae).
