Z. He & D. H. Lv 2017	<div><p>Aspidistra maguanensis S.Z.He &amp; D.H.Lv sp. nov. (Fig. 1)</p><p>Type:—  China, Yunnan province, Maguan county, Gulinqing town, under shrubs at the top of the mountain, 18 November 2014, D. H. Lv et al. 141119 (holotype, GZTM!,  isotype GZTM!).</p><p>Herbs perennial, 130 − 160 cm high. rhizome creeping, subterete, 1.5 − 2.5 cm thick. Roots light yellowish-white. Leaf sheaths 1 − 3, puce, 6 − 20 cm long, enclosing the base of leaves, fibrous when withered. Leaves solitary, close to each other, leaf blade oblong, 70 − 85 × 9 − 14 cm, leathery, apex gradually acuminate, base gradually narrowed into petiole; petiole 60 − 75 cm in length and 0.7 − 1 cm in diameter. Pedicel 10 − 12 cm, purple-red, bracts 6, broadly ovate, purple, 1 − 1.4 × 1 − 2 cm. Flower solitary, in obliquely erect position; perigone cupulate, 2 − 2.5 cm tall, 2.4 − 2.6 cm in diameter 12 (− 13) lobed, perigone tube purple-red outside and purple-black inside, 1.5 − 1.7 cm in length, ca. 2.5 cm in diameter, lobes purple-black, triangularlanceolate, 1 − 1.2 cm long and ca. 7 mm wide at base, erect or slightly outcurved. Stamens 12(− 13), inserted at base of tube, anthers oblong, ca. 5.5 mm in length, sessile. Pistil 7 − 8 mm in length, table shaped, ovary not swollen, stigma flat, 1.6 − 1.8 cm in diameter, rounded hexangular, margins slightly bent down, with numerous minute irregular indentations, adaxially white with some radiate slightly sunken furrows, abaxially purple-red with radiate ridges. Flowering phase: September to October.</p><p>Distribution and habitat: —The species grows under shrubs at the top of the mountain, at elevation 800 − 850 m. Distributed in Gulinqing town, Maguan county, Yunnan province, China.</p><p>Taxonomic relationships: —The new species is similar to  Aspidistra longiloba Li (1988: 156),  Aspidistra chunxiuensis Lin (2015: 163), and  Aspidistra grandiflora Tillich (2007: 341) .
