1A158788FFE45926FFDCFD3FC2B1444A.taxon	discussion	(“ Amphilestidae ”, Mammalia), type species by monotypy, was named on the basis of a single specimen from Como Quarry 9, Morrison Formation (Kimmeridgian – Tithonian), Wyoming, USA. As the genus is preoccupied by Phascolodon Stein, 1859 (Ciliophora, Phyllopharyngea), Cifelli and Dykes (2001) proposed the substitute name, Phascolotheridium Cifelli and Dykes, 2001, to replace the junior synonym, Phascolodon Simpson, 1925. It has recently come to my attention, however, that another substitute name had been published (Kretzoi and Kretzoi 2000) some months previously. Hence, Comodon Kretzoi and Kretzoi, 2000 replaces Phascolodon Simpson, 1925; Phascolotheridium Cifelli and Dykes, 2001 is a junior synonym of Comodon Kretzoi and Kretzoi, 2000. The type and only species is thus properly cited as Comodon gidleyi (Simpson, 1925).	en	Cifelli, Richard L.
