Graminaseius occidentafricanus (Moraes, Oliveira & Zannou)
Typhlodromips occidentafricanus Moraes, Oliveira & Zannou, 2001a: 3; Moraes et al. 2004: 219. Amblyseius occidentafricanus, Chant & McMurtry, 2004: 201 .
REMARKS—Chant & McMurtry (2004) placed this species in genus Amblyseius in the nicola species subgroup Chant & McMurtry of the obtusus species group Chant. However, considering that it has spermatheca with thick-walled major duct, bifurcate at juncture with atrium, it seems that it is more appropriate to place this species in the genus Graminaseius Chant & McMurtry. This species is unique within the Graminaseius in having idiosomal setal pattern 10A:8C/JV-3:ZV. It was described from specimens collected in Okigwe, Nigeria, on Synedrella nodiflora . No additional specimens were collected in the present study.
WORLD DISTRIBUTION—Nigeria.
