Holotype: EEBP 368, 76.3 mm SL (Figure 7): Brazil, S„o Paulo, Descalvado, Areia Branca stream, tributary of Bonito River, Mogi-Guaçu River basin, tributary of Grande River, tributary of the Paraná River, ~ 21°52′53″S, 47°31′13″W, ~ 570m asl, 20 Jan 1951.
Remarks. A label stuck in an individual states that it is the holotype of Cetopsorhamdia iheringi (Figure S9). The same information (including data on the locality) is available in a catalog of MHNP.
