Tettigades mexicana Distant, 1881 .
The species has been reported from Mexico, Arizona, and Argentina (Metcalf 1963c). However, the validity of the type location has been questioned and was called an error by Torres (1958) in his revision of the genus. All remaining members of the genus are found in Chile and Argentina (Metcalf 1963c, Duffels & van der Laan 1985). Inclusion of the species in the Mexican fauna should be questioned until new specimens can be collected or specimens of T. mexicana are collected in another geographic location.
