Tibicen montezuma (Distant, 1881) .

The species has been reported from Mexico, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma (Metcalf 1963a).

The specimens from the United States are attributed to later described species of Tibicen (particularly T. texanus Metcalf) or misidentifications. The species appears to be an endemic Mexican species. It has been reported from Morelos in Mexico (Metcalf 1963a).
