Tibicen oleacea (Distant, 1891) .

Distant (1900) mistakenly synonymized this species to T. nigiventris . The author has seen representatives of both species and was able to separate them based on the original species descriptions, particularly based on the size of the pronotum and coloration patterns. The figures in Distant (1881, 1900) also facilitate the separation of two species.

The author has identified specimens from Oaxaca and Veracruz.
