Gymnetis flava (Weber, 1801)
Cetonia flava Weber 1801: 67 (Brazil)
Distribution. Suriname: Schenkling 1921: 93; Blackwelder 1944: 262 (as G. holoserica [sic] flava). Brazil (NA): Weber 1801: 67 (as Cetonia flava); Blackwelder 1944: 262 (as G. holoserica [sic] flava); Ratcliffe 2018: 89 (NA). Other: Schenkling 1921: 93 (Argentina); Blackwelder 1944: 262 (Argentina - as G. holoserica [sic] flava); Ratcliffe 2018: 89 (Paraguay).
Note. Ratcliffe (2018: 89) mentions a specimen of Gymnetis flava from French Guiana which he considers mislabeled, and the only other record of the Guianas we are aware of is given for Suriname in Schenkling (1921: 93) and copied in Blackwelder (1944: 262). The record from Óbidos in the Brazilian state of Pará given in Ratcliffe (2018) indicates that the species might indeed be present in the Guianas, but this needs confirmation.
