6. Thubdora klenodes Park, sp. nov.

(Figs. 7 A–F)

Type specimen. Holotype: male, Uganda, Kibale National Park, Biol. Field Station, 19–24 xi 2014, LF, leg. W. Mey; gen. slide no. CIS-7044, COI barcode CBNU025, deposited in MfN.

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to the species of Ptilothyris in forewing pattern, but the antenna is a typical of Thubdora species, serrate, and not flattened and bipectinate. It can be distinguished from its allies by the male genitalia, with broadly developed uncus, fan-shaped caudal plate of juxta, and aedeagus with a bundle of short, hair-like scales apically.

Description. Male (Figs. 7A, C). Forewing length 8.0 mm. Head: Yellowish brown to dark brown, with orange-white erect scales laterally. Antenna serrate, shorter than forewing, with basal segment elongated, orange white dorsally, dark brown ventrally; flagellum orange white, without annulations. Second segment of labial palpus thickened, saber-shaped, dark brown on outer surface, orange white on inner surface; 3 rd segment strongly upturned, as long as 2 nd segment, orange white, acute apically (Fig. 7C).

Thorax: Dark brown dorsally. Tegula concolorous with thorax. Forewing ground color yellowish brown to dark brown, speckled with dark-brown scales; antemedian fascia large, usually well developed, with black scales; postmedian fascia poorly developed; costa arched beyond 2/3; apex obtuse; termen oblique; fringe concolorous with ground color, with narrow, orange-white basal line. Hind wing greyish brown, with creamy-white streak from base to 3/5 along costa; with a bundle of hair-pencils at base.

Abdomen (Fig. 7F): Spinous zones on tergites broad; sternite VIII short, broadly developed with slightly concave caudal margin and a small, quadrate expansion anteriorly; tergite VIII heavily sclerotized, crescent. Male genitalia (Figs. 7D, E): Uncus broadened distally, with slightly convex caudal margin medially, reaching apex of basal plate of gnathos. Basal plate of gnathos broad; median process broad at base, gently curved downward beyond 2/3. Tegumen with inverted V-shaped incision on anterior margin. Valva costal margin concave over all, with a dorsal hump near basal 1/4; cucullus elongated, slightly upturned, nearly parallel-sided with round apex, densely setose, with a series of comb-like scales around ventro-proximal margin. Juxta with a broad, large caudal plate, rounded caudally. Vinculum band-like, narrow, heavily sclerotized. Aedeagus shorter than valva, narrowed toward apex; apex sharply produced; cornuti consisting of two bundles, one near middle, with small spines, the other near apex, with hair-like scales.

Female unknown.

Distribution. Uganda (Kabarole Distr.).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Greek, klenos (= comb), referring to the comb-like scales around ventro-proximal margin of valva in the male genitalia.
