Diagnosis. The genus Autosticha can be distinguished by the head (Figs 1a–c) with appressed scales and the scape of the antenna without pecten, and the yellow forewing with dark discal, discocellular, plical and tornal spots; in the male genitalia by the uncus clavate or conical in most species and the circular gnathos sometimes with a very short or indistinct mesial plate.

Autosticha is similar to Apethistis Meyrick, 1908 and Punctulata Wang, 2006 in appearance. It can be distinguished from Apethistis by the uncus not bifurcate, whereas it is bifurcate distally in Apethistis . It can be distinguished from Punctulata by the presence of a gnathos, which is absent in Punctulata .

Remarks. In the type species A. pelodes (Meyrick, 1883), R 4 and R 5 of the forewing are coincident, CuA 1 and CuA 2 stalked; Rs and M 1, M 3 and CuA 1 of the hindwing are stalked (Fig. 1d). In the present study, we observed R 4 and R 5 are also stalked, CuA 1 and CuA 2 are coincident in some species (Figs 1e–f).
