These specimens were collected in sponges such as A. crassa, A. fistularis, C. carteri, C. echinata, C. foliacea, I. notabilis, M. arbuscula, M. laxissima, algae such as Asparagopsis, B. tenella, C. cervicornis, C. minima, C. racemosa, D. delicatula, D. dichotoma, H. spinella, L. obtusa, S. natans, Udotea, cnidaria such as P. guadalupensis, in barnacle tests such as A. amphitrite, coral rubble, plastic rope, soft bottom and wood. The abundance of females and males was not recorded for this species.

Geographical distribution. Atlantic Ocean: southeastern Florida; GoM: southwestern Florida, Tuxpan-Lobos Protected Natural Area, Veracruz Reef System National Park; Caribbean Sea: Puerto Morelos Reef National Park, Quintana Roo .
Recognition characters. Uropodal endopod with three articles often of variable length in both sexes. Female: antennule with three articles; distal margin of maxilliped with one or two pairs of long simple setae; uropodal exopod smaller than the first article of endopod. Male: antennule with five apparent articles with rows of aesthetascs; chela with fixed finger three-quarters length of dactylus.
Remarks. This species occurs in sponges such as A. clathrodes, A. crassa, A. fistularis, Callyspongia (Cladochalina) armigera (Duchassaing & Michelotti), C. nucula, D. anchorata, G. neptuni, I. birotulata, I. felix, I. strobilina, cnidarian such as E. flexuosa and Oculina Lamarck, algae such as A. fragilissima, C. racemosa, D. dichotoma, G. obtusata, Rhipocephalus, S. natans and U. lactuca, seagrass such as T. testudinum, coral rubble, soft bottom, wood, at depths of 5 to 50 m.
