DISTRIBUTION: Great Nicobar Isl. (Nicobar Isis, India).

COMMENTS: Not a species of Suncus, as suggested by Krumbiegel (1978:71). Corbet and Hill (1991) included jenkinsi which is retained as distinct until more evidence is presented.
