Cryptocephalus chrysopus (Gmelin, 1788)

Material in revised collection: Report of this species “Tetele, 12.08.1973 (1 ex., leg. V.Pūtele)” (Pūtele 1974) was misidentified and relate to C. pusillus Fabricius, 1777 .

Host plants: Salix, Quercus, Rosa (Lopatin, Nesterova 2005).

General distribution: Europe (excl. N), Caucasus, Sayans, Kazakhstan.

Note: Probably, other report of this species by V. Pūtele (Pūtele 1984) from Slītere National Park were based also on misidentification. Occurrence of this species in Latvian fauna is doubtful, therefore it is excluded from the list of Latvian Coleoptera . The nearest known localities of this species are in Poland (Warchałowski 1991; A. Warchałowski pers. comm.) and southern Belarus (Lopatin, Nesterova 2005)
